John Kaminski Memorial Scholarship Program
Due to the Covid Pandemic we did not receive any applications for our 2019-20 Scholarship so the Section has decided to re-open the Application Period until October 15, 2020. Selection and award of the 2019-20 $1,000 Kaminski Scholarship will be made at that time and while you are at it, don't forget to put applying for the 2020-2021 Kaminski Scholarship on your calendar for the Spring.
The Pennsylvania-Anthracite Section of Society of Mining Engineers / AIME sponsors the John Kaminski Memorial Scholarships for mining-related engineering or science majors for Pennsylvania students.
We annually award One (1) $1,000.00 scholarship for a Graduating High School Senior College or University Undergraduate scholarship for enrollment and attendance in an engineering or science program related to mining at a school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Graduating Senior Scholarship is a one-time only grant issued for freshmen attending their first semester in the fall of academic year. The College/University Undergraduate Scholarship is for High School Senior Scholarship winners and current undergraduate students and may be renewed upon application if satisfactory progress (>3.0 GPA) towards an appropriate degree is maintained.
Information about the scholarship grants can be obtained from your school’s guidance counselor, downloading the attached application form or by contacting us at:
